Professor Steagall is a world-wide known board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist (ACVAA) who has dedicated his career to understanding, recognizing and treating pain in animals. He has over 20 years of experience and built his career working in Brazil, USA, Canada and Hong Kong, studying and educating thousands of veterinarians around the world about pain management in animals with a particular focus on cats.

His studies support simple, cost-effective techniques for pain management that are applied easily by veterinarians in practice. He has worked with several individuals and institutions in the development and validation of the Feline Grimace Scale©. Like for millions of people, cats changed his life, giving him a meaning and a purpose.

Cats have also given him the opportunity to travel the world, lecturing and meeting new friends and colleagues: As he likes to say: "Cats always win".
